हाँ, सर, यह एक मोर है।

Teacher: Well done! Today we are going to talk about our National Bird the peacock. There are various species of peacocks. You know, in India only the blue peacock is found. Has anyone of you seen it ?

टीचर: बहुत बढ़िया! आज हम अपने राष्ट्रीय पक्षी मोर के बारे में बात करने जा रहे हैं। मोर की कई प्रजातियाँ होती हैं। तुम्हें पता है, भारत में सिर्फ़ नीला मोर ही पाया जाता है। क्या तुममें से किसी ने इसे देखा है?

Ruby : Yes Sir, I've, I've seen it in the Patna Zoo. It's very beautiful.

रूबी: हाँ सर, मैंने इसे पटना चिड़ियाघर में देखा है। यह बहुत सुंदर है।

Teacher: Yes, you're absolutely right. It looks very attractive. Its feathers are multi-coloured and its large oval body is bright and colourful. It has a small head

टीचर: हाँ, तुम बिल्कुल सही कह रहे हो। यह बहुत आकर्षक दिखता है। इसके पंख बहुरंगी हैं और इसका बड़ा अंडाकार शरीर चमकीला और रंगीन है। इसका सिर छोटा है।

and a slender neck. A male peacock is more colourful than the female one peahen, Its plumes are matchless in beauty and are used for decoration.

और एक पतली गर्दन। नर मोर मादा मोरनी की तुलना में अधिक रंगीन होता है, इसके पंख सुंदरता में बेजोड़ होते हैं और सजावट के लिए उपयोग किए जाते हैं।

हाँ, तुम सही हो। यह सिर्फ़ साँप ही नहीं खाता, बल्कि पौधे, बीज, फल, कीड़े-मकौड़े भी खाता है। यह मेंढक और छिपकलियाँ भी खाता है।

टीचर: (सिर हिलाते हुए) अच्छा! शादी-ब्याह में दो लोग मोर और मोरनी बनकर नाचते हैं। लेकिन असल में मोर ज़्यादातर बरसात के मौसम में नाचता है। जब आसमान बादलों से घिरा होता है, तो मोर अपने रंग-बिरंगे पंख फैलाकर खुशी से नाचता है। क्या किसी ने बिना पंखों वाला मोर देखा है?
